Photos are also a matter of timing

Overall, I think the story is strong. There are some inconsistencies in first and last name credits. I also feel there could be more crediting to Mr. Noble. Some of the graphs are also too long with multiple sentences in them. Break them up

Community responds to tragedy

Nice photograph at a very tough assignment. Well done.

Here we snow again

Excellent variety of still shots, actions shots and catching neat facial expressions. Nice technical skill shown, which can be hard with the glare created by snow/winter sun. Thanks!!

Honoring Officer Prince

Photos and the written story really bring the emotion of the Prince family to the reader of the loss of their son in the line of duty. If the video segment would have been more robust, it could have pushed this entry up in the category.

Hot in the city

I've covered one of these firefighter contests before, and it is a lot of great opportunities for cool photos. Nice work capturing a mix of in-motion images and still shots. There was good handling of the technical side of photos: focus and clarity, centering and framing. Great job!

Headlines, M Harper, The State Port Pilot

This is what excellent headline writing looks like. Hits all the marks.

Reading emails.., Hodgin’s removal.., Salubrious breezes

Nice work. The editorial urging an end to reading emails at public meetings starts with the democratic principle right up front. (Be careful with the reference of someone/they...) Nice job calling out Alderman Spencer with his own words. And, dear Lord, if an elected official can find sex in a salubrious breeze, y'all are having more fun than the rest of us.

7.30 Pilot – Shore Catch

The artwork on this ad is fun. Having the octopus holding your newspaper and cellphone with e-edition is a neat idea. The text is also in a 'fun' font that pulls the ad all together.

Great Read

This is a great ad promoting your newspapers. The background photo works great with the nice big header. The newspaper on the cup is very eye-catching.

2.18 Dutchman Creek Bait & Tackle

The yellow on the Dutchman Creek Bait & Tackle really drew my attention. Paired with the blue sky background, it makes the ad jump off the page, just like the fish jumping out of the water. Nicely done!

Potter Art Book

This entry excelled by blending creativity with purpose. The design draws readers in while the messaging delivers exactly what retail advertising should—attention, clarity, and action.

The Way It Was

This is so creative! It is a smooth transition like you're watching a reel. What a fun way to advertise the book.

The header on this ad will grab the attention of every business in town! The colors make the ad stand out. It contains just the right amount of information to get the phone ringing.
